sand used 1 basin of Portland cement .Each cement bag contains 5 basins and a cart of coarse

sand contains 50 basins , and for plastering of the wall 20 bags of cement were used . The cost

of a cement bag is Rs 400 and the cost of a cart of coarse sand is Rs 200.

Portland cement. By how much has he increased or decreased the ratio of cement used in the

mortar .

(c) Due to rise in diesel price, the cement bag costs Rs 500 and cost of coarse sand cart is Rs 300,

what is the ratio of money now spent to the money previously spent on cement and coarse sand ?

Solution:–given that, for every 6 basin of coarse sand used 1 basin of Portland cement .

now,

→ Each cement bag have = 5 basins .

→ Each cart of coarse sand contains = 50 basins .

and,

→ Total cement bags used for plastering the walls = 20 .

so,

→ Total basins in 20 bags of cement = 20 * 5 = 100 basin of cement .

then,

→ 1 basin of portland cement used = 6 basin of coarse sand .

→ 100 basin of portland cement used = 600 basin of coarse sand .

therefore,

→ 50 basins = 1 cart of coarse sand

→ 1 basins = (1/50)

→ 600 basins = (1/50) * 600 = 12 cart of coarse sand .

Hence,

→ Total money spent on cement and coarse sand = 400 * 20 + 200 * 12 = 8000 + 2400 =
