    When we reduce 5 from A and add 5 to B, both become equal, so,

    => x 5 = y + 5

    => x = y + 5 + 5

    => x + y = 10...(i)

    When we reduce 10 from A and add 10 to B, Be because 4 times A

    => B + 10 = (A 10)×4

    => y + 10 = (x 10)×4

    => y + 10 = 4x 40

    => y + 10 + 40 = 4x

    => 10 + 40 = 4x y

    => 4x y = 50....(ii)

    Now add (i) and (ii)

    x + y = 10

    + 4x y = 50

    = 5x = 50

    => x = 50/5

    => x = 10

    Means when apples reduced, then apples in box A became 10

    We know that when Apple reduced from A, B become 4 times A

    so

    B = 4 × A

    => B = 4×10

    => B = 40

    So

    Apples in A before reducing

    = A + 10

    = 10 + 10

    = 20

    and apples in B before adding

    = B 10

    = 40 10

    = 30

    So apples in A and B are 20 and 30 respectively.

    Total apples = 50

    When we add 5 to A and reduce 5 from B bith become equal. So our answer is correct.
