    so denominator will be (8-x)

    if 3 is added to both

    new denominator = 11-x

    new numerator = x +3

    (x+3)/(11-x) = 3/4

    4x+12 = 33-3x

    7x= 21

    x= 3

    so the original fraction is 3/5.
