    The phenomenon is photosynthesis

    Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants produce their own food by taking in water (from the soil) and carbon dioxide (from the air) and converting them into glucose (starch/food prepared by plants) and oxygen (into the air) with the help of chlorophyll ( in the green parts of leaves) and sunlight.
