   Let Saumya’s age be x

   Sohali’s age = x + 5

   5 years ago,

   Saumya’s age = x – 5

   Sohali’s age = x + 5 – 5 = x

   So, (x – 5) + x = 55

   2x – 5 = 55

   2x = 55 + 5 = 60

   X = 60/2 = 30

   Present age

   Saumya’s age = x = 30

   Sohali’s age = x + 5 = 30 + 5 = 35
