A solid has a definite shape and volume : Because in solids constituent particles are held together by a strong cohesive force .
Solids in general have high density :They have higher density than liquids and much higher than of solids . This is because of the intermolecular forces present in them .
In solids intermolecular forces arestrong :This is because they are held together by a strong force of attraction .
