  2. Length of board = 40cm
    Breadth of board = 3cm
    Area of drawing board = l x b
    = 40 x 3 = 120 sq. cm

    Length of side of border = 4cm
    Area inside the border = side x side
    = 4 x 4 = 16 sq. cm (as it is a square)

    Area of border = area of board – area inside of border = 120 – 16 = 104 sq. cm
