   Let,

   Farah’s age be x

   And

   Sahil’s age be y

   Eight years ago :

   Farah’s age = x-8

   Sahil’s age = y-8

   According to the question

   x-8 = y-8+5 => x-8 = y-3 => x-5 = y —- (i)

   And x = 2y —- (ii)

   Substituting value of x in (i)

   2y-5=y

   y=5

   Substituting value of y in (ii)

   x = 2(5)

   x = 10

   Thus, Farah’s present age is 10.
