  1. SOLUTION

    TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT OPTION

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{Decide \: the \: orderly \: relationship \: between \: \: \frac{5}{4} \: and \: \frac{11}{12} }[/tex]

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{1.\: \frac{5}{4} \: > \: \frac{11}{12} }[/tex]

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{2.\: \frac{5}{4} \: < \: \frac{11}{12} }[/tex]

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{3.\: \frac{5}{4} \: = \: \frac{11}{12} }[/tex]

    EVALUATION

    STEP : 1

    Write down the given numbers

    The given numbers are

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{ \frac{5}{4} \: and \: \frac{11}{12} }[/tex]

    STEP : 2

Convert them into the fractions with same denominator

The denominators are 4 and 12

    LCM of 4 and 12 = 12

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{\frac{5}{4} = \frac{5 \times 3}{4 \times 3} = \frac{15}{12} }[/tex]

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{\frac{11}{12} = \frac{11\times 1}{12 \times 1} = \frac{11}{12} }[/tex]

    STEP : 3

    Now check the relationship

    Now 15 > 11

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: \frac{15}{12} \: > \: \frac{11}{12} }[/tex]

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: \frac{5}{4} \: > \: \frac{11}{12} }[/tex]

    FINAL ANSWER

    Hence the correct option is

    [tex] \displaystyle \sf{1. \: \: \: \frac{5}{4} \: > \: \frac{11}{12} }[/tex]

    2) 5/4 < 11/12

    3) 5/4 = 11/12

    Solution :

    → 5/4 and 11/12

    making both denominator same ,

    • 5/4 = multiply and divide by 3
    • 11/12 = multiply and divide by 1 .

    we get,

    → (5/4) * (3/3) and (11/12) * (1/1)

    → (15 / 12) and (11/12)

    since,

    → 15 > 12 .

    therefore,

    → (15/12) > (11/12)
