    To find

    Value of x and y

    Solution

    ★Here, 2x – y = 2

    ⟹ y = 2x – 2___(i)

    Now

    ★⟹ x + 3y = 15____(ii)

    ★Substituting the value of y from (i) in (ii), we get

    x + 6x – 6 = 15

    ⟹ 7x = 21

    ⟹ x = 3____(iii)

    ★Substituting the value of x from (iii) in (i), we get

    y = 2 × 3 – 2 = 4

    ∴ x = 3 and y = 4

    ★Hence x = 3 and y = 4
