   Let the monthly income of Amit = 6x

   And the monthly income of Atul = 5x

   AND

   Let the monthly expenditure of Amit = 5y

   And the monthly expenditure of Atul = 4y

   Both saves 2500 rupees each from their income

   Of Amit 6x – 5y = 2500. (equation 1)

   and

   of Atul 5x – 4y = 2500. (equation 2)

   in equation 1

   6x – 5y = 2500

   6x – 2500 = 5y

   (6x – 2500)/5 = y

   6/5x – 500 = y

   putting value of y in equation 2

   5x – 4(6/5x – 500) = 2500

   5x – 24/5x + 2000 = 2500

   (25x – 24x)/5 = 2500 – 2000

   x/5 = 500

   x = 5*500

   x = 2500 rupees

   y = 6/5x – 500

   = 6/5*2500 – 500

   = 3000 – 500

   = 2500 rupees

   income of Amit = 6x = 6*2500 = 15000 rupees

   income of Atul = 5x = 5*2500 = 12500 rupees
