  1. Given equations are:

    x+2y=5 (1)

    7x+3y=13 .2)

    Multiplying equation (1) by 7

    7x+14y=35 ..(3)

    Subtracting equation (2) from equation (3), we have

    11y=22

    y=2

    Now putting y value in equation (1)

    ⇒x+2(2)=5

    ⇒x=5−4

    ⇒x=1

    x=1,y=2
