Two jar A and B,both contain 20% milk .the quantity of jar A is 4 times than that of quantity of jar B.both jar mixtures are mixed and form new mixture C and 15 litres of water is added.the final ratio of water to milk is now 19:4 find the initial quantity of milk in jar B

    In jar A,

    Milk =80×80100=64litres

    Water = 16 litres

    In jar B,

    Total quantity = x litres

    Milk =60×100=3x5litres

    Water =2x5litres

    According to the question,

    64+3×516+2×5=52

    => 320+3×80+2x=52=>320+3×40+x=5

    => 200 + 5x = 320 + 3x

    => 5x – 3x = 320 – 200

    => 2x = 120 => x = 60 litres

    Quantity of milk in jar C = (\frac{3x}{5} + 64) litres

    =(3×605+64)litres

    = (36 + 64) litres

    = 100 litres
