1. Given :– if (x – 2) is a factor of x² + 3x + p . find P .Also factorise the polynomial ?

   Answer :–

   since (x – 2) is a factor of given polynomial p(x) .

   so,

   → p(x) = x² + 3x + p

   → p(2) = 0

   → (2)² + 3*2 + p = 0

   → 4 + 6 + p = 0

   → p = (-10)

   also, then,

   → p(x) = x² + 3x – 10 .

   therefore,

   → x² + 3x – 10 = 0

   → x² + 5x – 2x – 10 = 0

   → x(x + 5) – 2(x + 5) = 0

   → (x + 5)(x – 2) = 0
