    Total possible outcomes = 5 {-2,-1,0,1,2}

    Favourable outcomes = 3 {-1,0,1}(x^2<2)

    If X is -2 , then x^2 = 4 which is greater than 2. (-2)^2>2= 4>2. So X can’t be-2.

    Similarly, X can’t be 2.

    But it can be -1,0 or 1.

    So , P(E) = 3/5.
