    2x = 1

    x = ½

    According to remainder theorem apply the value of x in p(x)

    p(x) = 4x³- 12x² + 14x – 3

    p(½) = 4(½)³ – 12(½)² + 14(½) – 3

    = 4(⅛) – 12(¼) + 7 – 3

    [tex] = \frac{1}{2} – 3 + 7 – 3 = \frac{1}{2} + 1
