    Here its given that garrison for 1200 men has provision for 15 days .

    and later, 600 men joined the garrison .

    and now we have to find the number of days that the provision will last after the joining of new 600 members.

    so here we can see that the number of days the provision will last is inversely proportional to the number of men.

    we can solve this problem by using the normal arithmetical method .

    Total number of men after joining = 1200 + 600 =1800

    so ,

    For 1200 men = 15 days .

    For 1 men = 15×1200 days

    Therefore ,

    Hence, the provision will last for 10 days
