  2. Let, the present age of Rehana and her mother be 2x and 7x respectively

    Now, after 2 years their ages will be (2x+2) and (7x+2)

    ATQ :

    [tex] \frac{(2x + 2)}{(7x + 2)} = \frac{1}{3} \\ \\ = > 6x + 6 = 7x + 2 \\ \\ = > 7x – 6x = 6 – 2 \\ \\ = > x = 4[/tex]

    Now, present age of Rehana = 2x = 2×4 = 8 years.

    and present age of her mother = 7x = 7×4 = 28 Years
