Suraj spent 28,500rupees in mowing his lawn which is in the shape of a trapezium. The rate of mowing is rupees 38 per sq. m. The parallel sides are 24 m and 36 m. What is the distance between the parallel sides?

Rs. 38 are spent for mowing = 1 sq.m. Re. 1 is spent for mowing = 1/38 sq.m. Rs. 28,500 are spent for mowing = 28,500/ 38 = 750 sq.m. So, area of trapezium is 750 sq.m. As we know, Area of trapezium = 1/2 (sum of parallel sides) ( height) 750 = 1/2 (24+36) (height) 750 = 60/2 (height) 750 = 30 (height) => Height = 750/30 = 25m Therefore, distance between the parallel sides or height is equal to 25 m
Rs. 38 are spent for mowing = 1 sq.m.
Re. 1 is spent for mowing = 1/38 sq.m.
Rs. 28,500 are spent for mowing
= 28,500/ 38
= 750 sq.m.
So, area of trapezium is 750 sq.m.
As we know,
Area of trapezium = 1/2 (sum of parallel sides) ( height)
750 = 1/2 (24+36) (height)
750 = 60/2 (height)
750 = 30 (height)
=> Height = 750/30 = 25m
Therefore, distance between the parallel sides or height is equal to 25 m
