   2x+y=5−−−−(1)

   and,3x−y=5−−−(2)

   Onaddingbothequationweget

   2x+y+3x−y=5+5

   ⇒5x=10

   ∴x=2

   Now,onputtingthevalueofxinequation(1),weget

   y=5−2x

   =5−2(2)

   =5−4

   =1

   Hence,thevalueofx=2andy=1.
